Dr. Hiren Parekh is the medical director and surgeon in chief at Arlington Eye Physicians, PA. He is a premier surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist. He is well respected by his peers. Dr. Parekh believes in taking a personalized approach to each patient. Vision problems affect each of us differently and therefore it is very important to understand the individual’s complaints. Dr. Parekh takes the time to understand the unique nature of the problems and believes in customizing care to provide the best visual outcomes. Communication with patients is of paramount importance. He likes to spend the time explaining the conditions in detail and in layman’s terms to his patients.
As a premier surgeon he specializes in Cataract surgery, glaucoma and diabetic laser surgery and surgery for eye lids. As an experienced surgeon he meticulously evaluates every patient and discusses all available options for visual recovery. Sometimes surgery is not the only option and medical treatment may be sufficient for fast visual restoration.
As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Parekh is able to diagnose and treat all types of eye diseases. He often works with physicians from other specialties in treating complex systemic illnesses such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Pseudotumor, Sarcoidosis, Stroke and others that affect the eyes. Many of these conditions require a multidisciplinary approach and Dr. Parekh spends the time to coordinate care with other physicians so the patient has the best visual outcome.
Dr. Parekh holds an A.B in Mathematics and Molecular and Cell Biology from University of California, Berkeley. He obtained his M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Jospeph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He subsequently completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Paris, TX and then to Arlington to start Arlington Eye Physicians, PA.
